What is key change?

Key change is a feature that some karaoke players and mixers offer. It enables you to change the key of a track t make it more suitable to your singing range. That way, you can sing songs that may have been too low or too high for your voice.

This feature usually enables you to change the key by one semi-tone at a time until you find the one that suits you. The problem is that, on some players, changing the key of a track will change its tempo as well, making it faster or slower depending on which way you change the key, and the sound can be distorted too. So, when buiyng a player that offers the key change feature, you might want to check that it actually preserves the sound quality and track speed.
